There were no rescue facilities at the site at at about 4 p.m, in spite of the presence of officials of the Nigeria Red Cross, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), the police and other rescue workers.
A resident of the area, Nasir Musa told journalists that the building was over 40 years old and that the tenants had been told to vacate as it had shown signs of instability.
Gov. Mukhtar Yero was also the scene of the accident. (NAN)
